Administration: Development Associate 

Status: Full-time permanent

Salary range: $18/hr-$20/hr


The Development Associate works closely with the Development Director to coordinate and implement the Development Plan and ensure AKSPCA reaches its fundraising and marketing goals.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated and enjoys being part of a team and supporting their co-workers in achieving their personal and organizational work goals. They will be skilled at prioritization and staying on top of multiple tasks and deadlines with decreasing oversight over time. They will have a genuine interest in working for a small but growing non-profit supporting animal welfare. 

Associate Responsibilities:

  • Fundraising and Donor Event assistance – Help design, plan, coordinate, and implement all fundraising and donor events.

  • Website and social media updates

  • Data management and data entry

  • Special projects and campaign planning

  • Volunteer Engagement and Management


  • Experience managing or working with volunteers or the capacity to do so

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Experience social media marketing

  • Experience with donor communications a plus. Good with grammar, editing, and has an eye for detail.

  • Has excellent problem-solving skills and a strong sense of ownership over tasks, including follow-through, and is willing to do what it takes to get the job done.

Positions in our Adoption Center:

Animal Care Technician

Status: Full-time permanent

Salary range: $14/hr-$14.75/hr

The Animal Care Technician has the opportunity to directly impact hundreds of dogs and cats each year through adoption, foster, and the Pet Food Bank.  Key tasks include:

  • Daily care and feeding of shelter dogs and cats

  • Cleaing kennels and common areas

  • Maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for AC staff and animals;

  • Maintain the outdoor pet yard

  • Work with AKSPCA veterinarians on intakes, vaccination, exams, and care for new AC pets;


Required qualifications:

  • HS diploma or equivalent

  • Proficient with computers

  • must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Able to be put on company auto insurance (pet transportation)

  • Able to demonstrate effective customer service skills

Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Positions in our Clinic:  We are recruiting for several positions in our veterinary clinic, including:

Customer Service Representative (CSR)

Status: Full-time permanent

Salary range: $15.50/hr+

CSRs are public-facing positions at the Clinic.  This is a fast-paced role that requires excellent customer service skills and strong computer abilities.  People in this role schedule surgeries and exams; assist with intake and go homes; process payments, and handle customers effectively in person and over the phone.  All CSRs are required to be available to work a range of shifts, as early as 6:30am and as late as 6:30pm.

Required qualifications:

  • HS diploma or equivalent

  • Strong computer skills

  • Strong verbal communication skills

  • Able to follow directions

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs

  • Six months' experience in customer service work

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Vet Technician II

Status: Full-time permanent

Salary range: $24.50/hr - $25

We are seeking an experience Vet Tech to work in our S/N Clinic where we provide 24-30 surgeries daily, M-F.  Successful candidates will have at least five years' experience as a vet tech, proficient at calculating doses and maintaining log of controlled drugs; blood draws and catheter placement; induction, intubation, and anesthesia monitoring.  This is a fasted paced position and the successful candidate must be able to think on their feet and work effectively as part of a team.
