Spaying and Neutering

Spaying and neutering have always been an integral part of the Alaska SPCA mission. These procedures can help your pets lead longer, healthier and happier lives. Spaying and neutering are routine medical procedures that can help control pet overpopulation and prevent the development of medical and behavioral problems.

Our spay/neuter clinic has proudly served Anchorage and Alaska since 1978. Performing an average of 5,000 spay and neuter surgeries each year, the Alaska SPCA makes a critical contribution toward reducing the number of unwanted pets that enter Alaska’s shelters.

We are committed to providing compassionate, high quality care to the dogs, cats and rabbits (male) in our communities. Our staff works hard every day to give your pet the best possible care. We also strive to ensure you receive exceptional levels of service.

In addition to our traditional spay/neuter program, we also offer spay/neuter PLUS, and senior spay/neuter procedures (required for dogs and cats over seven years of age). Ask one of our staff how these services can benefit your pet.
