Adoption Center has a Kennel Tech position available
We need a kennel tech for our Adoption Center/Shelter in Anchorage. Hours will range from 10 to 6 or 11 to 7. The Adoption Center is open Mon-Sat. Although closed to public on Sunday, the animals must be cared for, and extra cleaning and special projects are done. Previous experience helpful but not mandatory. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must love and feel compassion for animals, and be comfortable handling special needs dogs and cats.
This individual will help clean kennels, yards, feed dishes and equipment, indoor and outdoor areas, assist with bathing and grooming animals, provide customer service to visitors and clients, and other duties as assigned. Will help keep the facility clean, organized, and functional. May be asked to help care for animals being treated for a health problem.
The individual we hire must be hardworking, honest and committed. S/he must be drug-alcohol free, have a valid AK drivers license, have references (which will be carefully checked) and pass a background check.
This is a roll-up-your-sleeves position that requires hard work and dedication. It is also a position that will touch your heart as you help defenseless animals prepare for a second chance at life.

• AK SPCA
Thrift Shop has a cashier/sorter position available – 32-40 hours per week.
Things are picking up at the Thrift Shop and we have a job opening here that needs to be filled soon. Come work with a great team, get a nice paycheck, and help animals all at the same time. Your efforts really will make a difference.
The position will be cross-trained in the following responsibilities:
• Assisting customers and providing courteous customer service
• Sorting and preparing clothing and items to put out for sale
• Receiving donations
• Helping organize/maintain the sorting room
• Help develop and maintain displays, and keep the store clean
• Help take care of Thrift Shop’s resident cats
• Help with special events and projects
This is a challenging and constantly changing job that requires hard work, but is really a lot of fun – and the customers and animals are great. This position has strong growth potential for the right person.
We are looking for people-oriented individuals who can work independently and as part of a team. Must be an animal lover who understands and supports our mission. Retail/customer service experience helpful but not mandatory. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., have a valid Alaska driver’s license, and be drug-free. Background check and references required.
Generous holidays and administrative leave time upon completion of orientation/probation period. Free routine shots and spay-neuter surgeries for employees’ personal pets. Salary ranges from $9 to $11/hour.
